Green Mao Feng is a delightful Chinese green tea known for its delicate, bright flavour and a delectable honeyed finish.
Hailing from the renowned Yellow Mountain region of Anhui province, this high-quality tea has been produced for over 300 years, gaining a dedicated following due to its exquisite taste and distinguished pedigree.
Handpicked during the early weeks of the season, only the youngest buds and leaves are selected for the production of Green Mao Feng. This careful selection process ensures a fresher, sweeter tea compared to other varieties, with its leaves rolled into a distinct curled needle shape. The result is a tea with a bright, fresh character, complemented by a smooth, honeyed sweetness that lingers on the palate.
The aroma of Green Mao Feng is nutty and inviting, further enhancing its appeal. This refined tea offers a gentle and satisfying sip, perfect for those who appreciate a greener, more delicate profile in their teas. Mao Feng’s bright notes are balanced with a light, natural sweetness that makes each cup an indulgence.
For those who enjoy the distinctive qualities of Mao Feng, we also offer Keemun Mao Feng, an aromatic black tea with a rich cocoa finish, showcasing the versatility of this prized leaf. Both teas exemplify the depth and complexity of Chinese tea craftsmanship, offering an exceptional experience whether enjoyed on their own or as part of a broader collection of teas.

About Green Mao Feng
Green Mao Feng originates from China, and it is often associated with tea-producing regions such as Huangshan (Yellow Mountain) in Anhui Province. The local terroir and climate contribute to the unique flavour profile of Mao Feng tea.
Mao Feng, translated as "Fur Peak," refers to the appearance of the tea leaves. The leaves are picked early in the season and are characterized by their fine, downy hairs and a distinctive pointed shape, resembling a fur-covered peak.
Mao Feng tea is typically made from young and tender leaves, often harvested in the early spring. The leaves undergo minimal oxidation during processing, preserving their green color and allowing the tea to retain its freshness and delicate flavors.

Green Mao Feng is celebrated for its fresh, sweet, and slightly nutty flavour. The tea liquor tends to be light and bright, with a smooth and crisp taste. The downy hairs on the leaves contribute to a silky texture.
The aroma of Green Mao Feng is often described as vegetal, with hints of chestnut or floral notes. The fragrance is delicate and inviting, reflecting the high-quality leaves used in its production.
To brew Green Mao Feng, use water that is around 80 to 85°C (175 to 185°F). Allow the leaves to steep for about 2-3 minutes. Adjust the steeping time to personal preferences, but be cautious not to overbrew, as it may lead to bitterness.

Green tea, including Mao Feng, is known for its potential health benefits. It contains antioxidants and compounds that may contribute to overall well-being, such as catechins and polyphenols.
Green Mao Feng can be enjoyed on its own or paired with light meals. Its refreshing and nuanced profile makes it suitable for various occasions, from a morning pick-me-up to an afternoon tea.
Like other green teas, Mao Feng contains moderate levels of caffeine. It provides a mild energy boost without the higher caffeine levels found in some black teas or coffee.
